We get asked so often “what’s the perfect wedding menu?”, and the simple answer is “well, there isn’t one”.
There is no right or wrong way, only your way. The most important thing is that you love it.
So, we’ll give you a helping hand and go through each stage in this blog. It’s just a quick lowdown to wedding catering, and be sure to contact us if your want more information on catering your wedding.
We find it best to serve a variety of canapés that everyone will love. A selection of hot and cold canapés will keep everyone going during your drinks reception and while the photographer works their magic.
Classic wedding canapés such as Oriental Spring Rolls with Tamarind Sauce, Mini Roast Beef and Yorkshire Pudding and Chicken Liver Parfait on Toasted Brioche are great crowd pleasers.
We’d suggest mixing these classics with something a little different to set your wedding apart. Mix in Shots of Bloody Mary Tomato Soup, Wild Mushroom Risotto Lollipops with Parmesan Cream or Curried Haddock Croquette with Saffron Béarnaise. Yum!
The Wedding Breakfast:
Whether you want a three course sit down, extravagant buffet or outside BBQ; we can deliver the best of fresh, seasonal and local produce to create exquisite menus to wow both you and your guests.
Popular starters include Young Carrot Soup with Lime Crème Friache, ‘Five-Spice’ Chicken Liver Parfait and Madeira Plums or Tarte Tatin of Blow-torched Goat’s Cheese and Tomato Ragout. Or, how about going for a ‘Salmon Tasting’ of Gin Cured, Oak Smoked and Poached Terrine?
When it comes to main courses we suggest a meat or fish that everyone tends to like. Chicken, Beef, Lamb or Salmon are the best. Dishes like Pan Fried Chicken Breast in Café au Lait Sauce, Salmon Supreme with a Fricassée of Asparagus and Broad Beans or a ‘Sunday Roast’ of Beef Sirloin with all the Trimmings seem to always go down well. But if you fancy something a little more impressive then how about a ‘Duo of Ducking’ comprising Roast Duck Breast and Confit Leg with Baked Potato Colcannon and a Port and Cranberry Jus?
Dont forget about the veggies and kids! We don’t do boring old vegetarian meals, we do creative and tasty vegetarian dishes. How about Ricotta and Spinach Baklava or Cannelloni of Spiced Pumpkin? And for your younger VIPs, what about a Party Selection of Sandwiches, Mini Pizzas, Nuggets, Miniature Cakes and Jelly and Ice Cream?
If three courses aren’t enough, how about an amuse-bouche of Curried Parsnip and Bramley Apple Soup, a Gin and Tonic Sorbet before dessert or British Artisan Cheeses to round off the meal?
Dessert is always a favourite with the bride, and tends to be her decision! Burnt Clotted Cream (Crème Brûlée) with Orange Cookies or Sticky Toffee Pudding with Marmalade Ice Cream always wins over your guests. A Bittersweet Chocolate Delice with Malted Milk Ice Cream and Black Cherry Textures is a real show-stopper, too. How about serving different Boys and Girls desserts, an Assiette of Desserts or Shot Glass Desserts so everyone can sample many miniature desserts?
There are so many options if you fancy a buffet or barbecue that we couldn’t possible list them here. So why not take a look at our website for more inspiration?
When the lights are out, the music is playing and the drink is flowing, why not keep your guests going long into the night with a snack or two?
A Grand Display of British Artisan Cheese is always a good way forward, or how about Bacon and Sausage Sandwiches or Proper Homemade Lamb Doner Kebabs? If you’re going to be feeding loads of late arrivers and evening guests, then an All Day Breakfast Buffet or Hog Roast is a great way to satisfy your guests.
There are just so many options to consider when catering your wedding and this is just the tip of the iceberg. All you need to know is what we can’t do isn’t worth doing, so contact us if you’ve a crazy idea or want to buck the trend. We’ll rip up the rule book and plan your perfect day with you, just for you.
